About Jimmy Ray
Jimmy Ray started racing in 2017 in the Hobby Stock division traveling to several tracks in Northern Nevada and Northern California. His home track was Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon Nevada, where he finished 3rd in points and was Rookie of the Year. In 2018 Jimmy Ray recorded 2 Wins and 4- 2nd place finishes in his Hobby Stock while racing at 6 different tracks.
In 2019 Jimmy Ray stepped up the IMCA Sport Mod division running a 2009 Sidebiter by Ruter Racing. In his 2019 Rookie Season he competed in 20 races and finished the season with 4 Wins, 2- 2nd Place and 3- 3rd Place finishes, all in the final 10 races of the season! His home track was Diamond Mountain Speedway in Susanville California, where he scored 2 of his wins. He also scored wins at Fernley 95a Speedway and Lovelock Speedway.
In 2020 Jimmy Ray started off with a pair of 3rd place finishes. The first at Fernely 95a Speedway in Fernley Nevada and the 2nd at Winnemucca Regional Raceway. In the Northern Nevada Modified Tour Jimmy Ray would take home a 2nd place finish on opening night at Rattlesnake Raceway and finish 5th in points in the 4 race series. In October Jimmy Ray debuted a 2016 Shaw Sport Mod that he bought as a rolling chassis. The car was fast off the trailer and he was running 2nd when a loose nut brought his night to an end. Not to be denied, he came back on day 2 and drew the pole for the A Main, lead all 20 laps and brought home the win in the new car!
Fun Fact- Jimmy Ray chose the number 27 in honor of the 27 years he had been married to Stacy Faye Huffmon when he started racing in 2017! In September of 2021, he and his wife celebrated 32 years of marriage!
